Funeral held for Woman robbed and killed with her Fiancé after their engagement party

Nearly a thousand mourners paid tearful final respects yesterday to 25-year-old Nia Haqq, the Jersey City woman slain with her Fiancé when they returned home from their engagement party early Sunday, officials said.

"I'm lost, I'm lost," said Tyra Minga who was to be Haqq's maid of honor next April when she was to be wed to Michael Muchioki, 27, who was found dead beside Haqq in front of their Randolph Avenue home.

The young couple was gunned down early Sunday near their home on Randolph Avenue in Jersey City as they returned from their engagement party in New Brunswick. They were murdered at around 3 a.m.

The couple was engaged in December and had planned to get married next April in Aruba.

Their killers, two women and a man, according to authorities, robbed them of personal belongings, including Haqq's engagement ring.

The trio shot them both twice and then tried to steal Haqq's 2010 Honda CR-V, but failed because of an anti-theft device.
They left the scene in a gold Grand Am, authorities said.

In death, as in life, Nia Haqq, 25, and Michael Muchioki, 27, will be together.
Sandra Muchioki said yesterday her family had replaced Nia's engagement ring and the couple would be buried wearing wedding bands.

Family members buried Haqq at the Rosedale & Rosehill Cemetery in Linden yesterday and Muchioki will be buried by her side.
